Mental Health Urgent Walk-in Center
We have a 24-hour therapist on-call outside of Walk-in Center hours.

24-hour Urgent Counseling is also available in Mundelein, Elmhurst, and Downtown Chicago, but you must call ahead to receive urgent therapy at these other locations.
Walk-in center hours for walk-in appointments are:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Tuesday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Sundays and all other times outside of regular business hours are on call. Simply call (847) 673 – 8577, anytime of the day or night, and you will be connected to the counselor on call, who will arrange to meet with you at any of our four locations, usually within 90 minutes. Our main office is in Skokie, IL, and we have satellite locations in Elmhurst, Mundelein, and Downtown Chicago.
If you or a loved one is experiencing the need for an urgent therapy session, our therapeutic walk-in center staff is available during regular business hours at our Skokie location, or on call 24-hours per day, 7-days per week, at one of our other locations or outside of Walk-in center hours, to help guide you through your struggle.

As an urgent Walk-In center, Behavioral Services Center provides non-emergent mental health care most typically referred to as urgent counseling service. This category of mental health services includes consultation in response to severe anxiety and depressive symptoms (without suicidal thoughts), family conflicts, relationship difficulties and substance abuse. If you are suffering from a true medical/psychiatric emergency (suicidality, psychosis, or any other symptoms), go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately.
All urgent walk-in appointments will be screened to determine urgency at the time of first contact. If it is determined that a there is a life threatening situation, the patient will be referred to appropriate care facility. If it is determined that a situation is not life-threatening or harming in any way, the patient will be set up for the first available intake assessment. If it is determined that immediate assistance is appropriate at time of first contact, and that BSC is equipped to handle the non-emergent crisis, the client will be seen on the day of first contact.
The cost of urgent mental health counseling is $75 per hour. Low income clients who have any type of State of Illinois Medicaid plan can receive urgent counseling at no out-of-pocket costs.
